Traditional Witch Bells With Hares And Birds

Traditionally witches hung three bells on their doorknobs. When the door is moved the tinkling of the bells is believed to protect the home from harm and any unwanted spirits.

My new design allows the bells more freedom to ring. Each set of bells has their own unique sound, these bells have a more delicate and very quiet tinkle even with the updated design. Please see videos on my Facebook/Instagram pages as sound is hard describe and can be different for us all.

I hand make each set of bells to look rustic. These bells all have a hare on one side and a bird on the other and measure 20mm x25mm.

Variations available:

Loose Bells - I have created a listing for loose bells so that you can use the bells as you wish in your own projects. I have had many people ask my if the bells on their own are avaliable and untill not I have not really made them avaliable. when you purchase these bells they will come with a jump ring attached and nothing else. Hare bells come in sets of 3, bat and owl bells are sold individually.

Bells only - Witch bells made with 3 hare bells, Simplistic and beautiful as they are. this is the base I use for all other sets of witch bells that I make with rope.

Bells And Wood Beads - I have added a string of seven 10mm wooden beads to this set of bells, wooden beads are believed to bring creativity and liberty and to ward off evil spirits.

Bells And Amethyst - Believed to help stimulate the mind and make us more in tune with our emotions, amethyst is a popular healing crystal as well as being used for protection.

Bells And Smoky Quartz -

Bells And Clear Quartz - Clear Quartz is believed to be the most powerful cleansing crystal and very wholesome and protective.

Bells And Geode Slice - Geodes are believed to enhance communication with divine beings and boost creating better and calmer moods.

Bells + Antler Tips - Made with a piece of antler which is believed to make the bells more in tune with nature.

Bells + Hag Stone - Hag stone magic is believed to open a peep hole to the world of the fae. These stones are also known as the adder stone, witches stone, elder stone, and by many other terms.

Bells + Crow Skull - With these bells I have included a resin replica of a crow skull to symbolise the magic of the crow.

Bells + Ammonite - It is believed that ammonites can help with emotion health and hold a lot of energy. these ammonite bells are finished off with a small piece of clear quartz as well.

Bells With Moon - These bells have been put together with chain and a crescent moon which i thought was really fitting to go with the hares to create moon gazing hares. these are finished off with hemp rope and some wooden beads.

Hunters Moon - For these bells I have used 2 hare bells and one beautiful owl bell. I haven’t completely photographed the owl bell as the wisest hold a secret.

Bat and Moon - These bells really jumped out at my inner goth. I love bats and was very excited to include these with my new discovery of the moons. the only thing I don’t like about these is that the bats are hanging upside down but I still think they make a lovely addition to the moons and the hares so again I’ve used 2 hare bells and one bat and finished off with hemp rope and wooden beads.

Bells with Shrunken Heads - I have found these beautifully handmade clay shrunken heads to almost be comforting. There are four different styles of head and I will send at random.

Bells with Knoppergalls - these are acorns that a wasp has laid its larve in and a mutation of the acorn occurs. being very high in tannin makes the knoppergall a great base for dyes and inks and was often used in medieval times. A beautiful example of natures wonders.

AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND - unfortunately due to customs I am unable to send knoppergalls or antlers to these countries.

These items are meant to look rustic and roughly put together so the rope may be a different thickness in parts and no two items are ever the same. Some of the bells may have a nick in the side but if they still make a sound then I just think it adds to the rustic worn aesthetic. I make all of my items by hand and my style is to look like I’ve just walked into a medieval cottage. Perfection is not along my path or my goal. Individuality is

Personalisation’s and messages

I am unable to personalise any products that I sell as they are solid materials and I do not have the skills or any equipment to engrave anything. If a personalisation box is available on an item, please read the instructions that will appear above or below the personalisation box to see what needs to be added, normally this will be crystal type and/or leaf colour. If anything else is written in this box such as names or dates, these will not be added on your order in any way so please do not be disappointed when you do not find them there.

I am unable to offer a gift card service. I do not include any receipts or prices in any parcels and all parcels will require a signature.

Delivery

Orders are sent out within 3 working days and will be sent as standard 2nd class parcels in the U.K. and tracked internationally. Order are Marked as dispatched when the postage label is printed but it can take up to a further 4 working days for me to reach an open post office to send your order out to you as I am unable to just leave them in a post box. this means that the total dispatch time can take up to 7 working days although this is not reflected on the dispatch notification. If you need your order by a certain date please message me directly to discuss this with me. For international orders please remember to contact your local postal service in the case of a failed delivery. They will leave you a card with contact information on it for you to rearrange delivery or for you to collect. I try to reuse packaging and use packaging that is recyclable where ever possible to reduce waste and help create a greener planet ️

Returns And Refunds Policy.

All orders are sent out from me with a tracking number and as such it is your responsibility to keep an eye on where your order is and if you miss a delivery it is up to you to communicate with your postal service to try to redeliver to you.

If items are damaged in transit then I will request a photo for proof and then offer you either a replacement or a refund.

If you are unhappy with your order then you are welcome to return your item at your own cost and a refund for the item will be issued when I have received it. Please return items tracked and signed for to ensure they reach me. If items are lost in transit and there is no tracking information, I will not issue a refund.

The Little Owl
